The Financial Times reported on Tuesday, citing a draft decision, that the European Union plans to impose fixed duties on billions of small parcels entering the bloc, mainly from China. <\/p>\n\n

The European Commission circulated a draft decision on handling fees yesterday after pressure from member states whose customs services are flooded with 4.6 billion imported goods a year that go directly to people’s homes, the paper said.<\/p>\n\n

The draft decision did not specify the level of the fee, but the newspaper, citing people familiar with the Commission’s thinking, reported that it would be around two euros ($2.25) <\/p>\n\n
